"Helen is a very skilled massage therapist. She became a favorite of mine in
the Albuquerque area. I took to the Ayurvedic style massage the most. I found that this style really gave me the rest and relaxation I was looking for. Having battled Lupus and everything that comes with it, my body ended up being extremely sensitive to touch...my mind was able to calm down and rest and my skin and muscles had no issue under her touch. It was a very serene experience. Helen has a wide knowledge of massage and all that goes with it .... She is definitely one of the best around." Alissa Downing
is a letter to recommend Helen Nestor. She worked as my massage therapist
for over a year, until recently. I cannot think of another therapist who would
qualify more than Helen. I have a terminal illness which required an educated
therapist, due to my sensitivity to bruising, pain and swelling. Helen took
great care to be careful and thoughtful. Her considerable knowledge allowed
her to treat me gently yet therapeutically, using her skill as a master therapist.
Anyone who would hire her would be fortunate indeed. I just wish she would
return because replacing her has proved to be impossible." Lois
Ayurveda is the ancient Indian system of health of longevity that dates back more than 5,000 years. Ayurveda practices the theory of balance. Health is a state of balance, and disease is a state of imbalance.
According to Ayurveda, we are all born with an individual make-up of the elements called our 'dosha' - the very same elements that make up everything in life. These doshas are dominated by ether and air for Vata, fire and water for Pitta and earth and water for Kapha dosha.
Health is defined
as the ever changing balance of our individual constitutions in the context
of our ever changing and unique environment. Therefore the path to optimum
health is different for each person.
Calm: East Indian Ayurvedic Massage with Herbal oils
(60 or 90 minutes)
Let your mind and body surrender into a state of peaceful rest and calm, as warmed aromatic oils from the ancient Indian medicinal tradition of Ayurveda are generously applied, and gently and soothingly massaged into the body. These oils are chosen for your body type. They help nourish and moisturise the skin, pacify the mind, and allow a deep state of inner tranquility. Different oils may be used if necessary. The massage also relieves tension.
If you take part in intense physical activity, or simply just want to relax, this is an ideal treatment for you.
Ideally, it's best to allow 90 minutes for this treatment in order to allow the full body to be included, including head and face. However, if you're a little short of time it can readily be adapted to a 60 minute treatment.
